Granny's gone and done it again

Has anybody else called her?
No. But I’m glad she’s doing well. And speaking of calling, you all should be happy to know, I just called the On Call number even though I wasn’t 100% sure it would be my clinician. It was NOT. LOL but that’s okay! They still helped.

Proud of you @ShrekDawg.

I probably won't call but send her a get well card. People need to rest while they are in the hospital. Lord knows it's hard enough to sleep in a strange uncomfortable bed with people roaming in and out poking around on you.

DH woke up not feeling very well, he had ran a low grade temp off and on over the weekend so he called the surgeon this morning and they said to err on the side of caution and come over to be checked. Threw on some clothes and headed west. Got there at noonish. They had cancellations so he got right in to see the surgeon who checked him over and wasn't too alarmed and thought he was feeling pretty much the way he would expect him to be feeling but to be safe they were going to run some labs to make sure his white count wasn't elevated. We had some lunch at the hospital, then headed back home. Got home about 6 and he is feeling better. Go figure. Just make somebody drive 300 miles round trip as a successful treatment.

We did get to see a picture of his gall bladder. Dr called it 'his worse nightmare'. Thing was really gross.:sick and that is saying something coming from me. Wow, the doctor carries pictures of a patient's gall bladder around to show colleagues. We were impressed.

So glad to hear that Granny is doing well and is in good hands....now if we can convince her to take it easy and listen to Nancy and the doctors, our job will be complete.

Thanks

@microchick, I like yr DH's dr! Pretty impressive that he would have your DH come in to be checked "just in case." Glad he is ok and feeling better. Did he drive, or you?

I agree Granny needs rest but ... she is very gregarious and also needs to know people are thinking of her. A card is a lovely idea! I will call her again tomorrow. Oh, if anybody calls, just knowing her name or room number won't get you hrough to her. The receptionist is very polite but regs is regs, apparently. You have to know her name. Full name. I had to hang up and think about it, lol. Then I remembered the name on the Christmas cards.

He drove both ways. Felt tired on the way but walking back to the car I asked him if he wanted me to drive and he said no he wanted to drive.

Yeah we are pretty impressed with him also. He's not that old, maybe late 30s early 40s. He has a little frost on the roof but his face is young. I told my husband that if we had to have a specialty surgeon or specialized care, even though it was 154 miles away that is where we wanted to be taken. Everyone is just super friendly and his office staff is just amazing, treating us like we are old patients that they see often. So far we haven't met a person in the hospital that isn't friendly and helpful.

Oh, I know that she's gregarious alright, which is why I won't bother her. I could talk the leg off a person, LOL.

I'm glad to here Granny is doing well. I will send a card rather than call and bother her.
Shrek, I know how you feel with the PI. I had it on my face once and had to wear a band across my eyebrows to keep the liquid from running into my eyes. It took 2 rounds of steroids and 3 trips to the doctor to get rid of it. Now I cant even walk through smoke that has PI burning in it without breaking out! Miserable stuff!
MC it's great to have doctors that really care about their patients. Sounds like you have a good one. I'm glad you DH is feeling better.
I took Pa to the doctor today because he has been coughing his head off for 2 days and is prone to get strep throat! He has a sinus and ear infection, but negative for strep, Covid and flu. Doc gave him a shot of steroids and a script for antibiotics. He should feel better in a couple of days. I'm headed to bed early tonight it's been a long day. Hope everyone gets a restful nights sleep.
