I'm here! I had an appointment with my ortho surgeon this morning followed by PT. Didn't have to do the PT. Doctor released me! Can you say happy dance time?
He told me I was doing great, just remember I was't completely healed yet so use common sense....yeah, I don't think he has been paying attention these past 5 months but who am I to remind him? No restrictions. He asked me if there was anything else they could help me with. I told him I'm 72, I have a bad neck, another bad shoulder, two bad hips but nothing was ready for surgery....yet. They'd see me in the future though. Probably. He did tell me that what I went through was a harder surgery than a complete shoulder replacement. Now they tell me.
Regarding PT/OT. Yeah. People do generally do better with the therapist, @Granny Hatchet so don't be too hard on yourself. When my mother started PT after one of her early heart failure hospitalizations, the therapist stopped by her room with a walker while she was in the bathroom. I motioned her out to the hall out of earshot and told her. Don't let her bully you. She is going to give you a hard time. When she got mom walking down the hall with the walker, mom went about 15 feet and said that's enough, I'm going back to my room. The therapist said, No. You aren't done yet. WALK! Mom walked....I chuckled. I wouldn't get that far with her on a good day.
