I went thru that with Toms stroke and again w/ the dementia. I found a blackboard to help as I wrote down the day and plans for that dayHe thinks he's been in for many days and doesn't understand why he doesn't come home today. He understands it when I explain it but by the next hour he's anxious again and doesn't understand why he doesn't come home today...I explain again and so it continues....
They do not do well staying at home by themselves all day. They get panic attacks when I come home so they can hardly breathe.Does either one of you have family around? Hows the puppy's?
He does have a board on his wall at the hospital with all that information and still asks me . I just keep repeating itI went thru that with Toms stroke and again w/ the dementia. I found a blackboard to help as I wrote down the day and plans for that day

That's what I was taught w/ the dementia.Early memory loss runs in my family. I try to eat brain healthy foods but I hope someday some body is very patient with me and doesn't remind me if I repeat myself
