Granny's gone and done it again

I was treated both times with long courses of Penicillin. After the second strep throat I wound up in the hospital for a month and was diagnosed with rheumatic fever. Wound up in bed for 6 months. It was a life changer for me. 2 years later I was put on cardiac meds. All my plans to go back to school and advance my education came to a screeching halt. I was 23 years old.

Treatable? Yes.....and no. Rheumatic or Scarlet fever and kidney/cardiac damage can result from Strep throat if you are susceptible. Trouble is you don't know if you are susceptible until.................
Oh my goodness! I have heard of scarlet and rheumatic fever resulting from strep, but never did any follow-up research on either one. I just knew you needed to treat strep so those didn't happen. How awful, Chick! I'm sorry that happened to you. :hugs
Anyway I'm thankful to have dodged that bullet this time, guess I just have a little "bug" and was told to go home and treat the symptoms. But at my age and being diabetic, I don't gamble.

Do you have somebody who could pick them up for you, Granny?
I just got off the phone w/ Kevin. He cant today but can in the AM. Then take Robert shopping.
I see my neuro on zoom when I need to. He's cities away now. Used to come to this office more nearby where I get my Lidocaine shots. He also calls in prescriptions from there.
Micro asked, someone to pick up for you?
yup, tomorrow. Cant come soon enough for me. It hurts! I tried to eat. That was a no go.

Good deal. Do the best you can, Granny. Can you tolerate cold on your mouth and throat? If you can you could try Jello water if you have Jello on hand. Mix it with two cups of cold water only and sip it. The Jello is high protein and has sugar in it. Might be worth a try if you have it on hand.

I have a full set of dentures, and my husband has had extensive dental work, and sadly yes that is normal for after an extraction to have "bone fragments" come out for months afterwards. :(
I never had any fragments come out. Got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and 2 other molars.

I didn't realize how spoiled I was at the old house, drinking well water all the time! I drank some tap water at the new place, and it's disgusting! I think I will be drinking more hot tea, it disguises the nasty taste of chemicals.
