Yep, it's all about money. The local Amish around here are bad about it. Dogs are livestock and treated as such. There are a lot of legitimate kennels around here also. I toured one once. Heated air conditioned, exercise areas. A far cry from a barn and females that are bred twice a year. The state was supposed to be cracking down on it but I haven't heard much lately. Makes me sad. We have 7 dogs now. All rescues, all from local 'whatevers'. All discarded like yesterdays newspapers.
@BigBlueHen53. I second that motion. Forget the eggs. Bring them in frozen when you can get them, thaw them out, if they aren't cracked from freezing that is and scramble them up and feed them to the pooches. Or back to the chickens for a hot treat. I've been collecting eggs twice a day. While the water has had a skin of ice on it no frozen eggs. Prolly because I loaded the nesting boxes with straw before this freeze hit.
