Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Twisty, Did you miss me??? Hows the mama drama going?

well she was shuddering earlier. just going to run a few errands and then have Craig run out to the farm and deal with Mike and the eggs and such. Oh and the main herd needs a lic tub.

Heading out now back latter, (if your all lucky :D)

wow up to 8* F

Spent over 3 hours trying to get the last of the end of the year and quarterlies done. This must now ALL BE DONE on line :he if they would just mail out paper forms I would have been done in about 30 to 45 minutes. Then there was no place on line to print an actual bill and mail a check out. Since I REFUSE to give my bank account info over the internet I had to pay with a cc and for that "privilege" there was a 2.5% convenience fee. SMH. I did call their help line and left a message. They called back 4 hours latter. OH you can still pay by check BUT now you have to do it this way. I informed them it would be nice IF they posted how to do that. This was a "new change" for the quarter. :barnie:mad:
I tell them I don't have on line service. They will come w/ paper form pretty quick if they want their money.

Good morning Granny Landers! It is a beautiful sun filled day here in the cold southland. Currently 35 degrees with a brisk wind making it feel like 25. Morning chores are done so I'm headed to the kitchen to deal with a mess of collard greens that Pa bought yesterday. Most will go in the freezer we will eat some for dinner.
Blue, I hope you feel better today.
Shrek, I'm sorry you had to wait in the cold. Get a good hot cup of your favorite beverage and get warmed up.
Twist, I also hate doing things on the internet. glad all your taxes are done for now.
Granny I hope you have a decent day. BBL

I can't remember your age..close enough for Medicare? Remember, when your old enough to get Medicare, and I went for mine at 61 because you can..at least we could years ago..you can get more from your husband, even while he's alive. I did. Just thought I would throw that your way. Maybe you remember us talking about it a while back. Blue got some after the conversation.
Yeah I am 68. Problem is we both worked for the state so we get cal pers as our main income. We both get about the same amount from soc sec.

No. They are doing the 5 years because I applied for long term care for DH. Like assisted living does when someone applies to move in. They do the 5 year look back period too.
Ok, so if myDH needed long term care we would just use his retirement pension. I always thought long term care was when you went in a retirement home. What other types of long term care are there? Where a nurse comes in to car3 for the patient?

Morning all
Blue, sorry to hear about your knee. I am having the worse time with sciatica.
Some days ok but others I am completely disabled.

Youall stay warm. We are lucky here, it’s cold but just 45 with high humidity. And no sun for days. The tule fog is thick.

Back east looks bad, I feel bad for all the animals that can’t come in the house.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning everyone. @BigBlueHen53 hope the knee isn't causing you too much pain this morning but suspecting it is making your life pretty uncomfortable at the moment.

It's 20 degrees here this morning and very sunny. Almost feels spring like....almost....after the past week of miserable temps and snow. Took Pi out this morning with Buck and Spot and she spent the whole time just running circles around them and enjoying herself. She is growing so fast. 7.7 pounds when we found her, 14.2 yesterday so she has almost doubled her weight in three weeks. I'll have to try to get a pic of her today as she is losing her baby face and starting to look like a little girl dog. Just too cute for words.

@grannyhatchet you should try to stock up on non perishable food items for over the winter months of January and February at least. Things like Ravioli, Dinty Moore stew (great served on a bed of rice), etc, box cereals, oat meal, peanut butter, canned fruits in natural juice and the like along with your favorite snacks. Just store them away for in case of emergency where you are snowed in and cannot get out. Make sure you choose foods that you like. We freeze as many gallons of skim milk that we can get in our freezer. Skim for us freezes better than whole or 2% milk does. I also make sure to have ample flour on hand to make bread. If the weather doesn't go south on you you can always eat what you have stockpiled.

Also, don't feel bad about not being able to go into Tom's room yet. It will come. You are still grieving. When my mother died, my minister told me to go home and change her bedroom around so it didn't remind me so much of her. I did, taking over her bedroom. It still reminded me of her at times simply because it used to be her room but I realized that my pastor was offering me advice on healing and getting on with my life after a really really hard 6 years of dealing with her dementia, violence, decline by inches and death. We are all different. We all grieve differently. You will know when you are ready to get on with your life and when you do you will be able to walk into that room and make it yours again. Till then, give yourself time to grieve. :hugs

When I signed up for freedom care it triggered the 5 year look back period. I cancelled freedom care because his Dr wanted him on palliative care so we have nurses and therapy coming out every week. They watch for problems and relay them to his PCP in hopes he will have less hospital stays where he picks up other illnesses.
Palliative care is also long term for some people.
Like his blood pressure has been elevated and they contacted his PCP. He's been having regular kidney stones. When he was in the hospital he was treated for kidney injury from dehydration and again when he had kidney stones
