Well, I'm done at the orthopedic surgeon's. Here's the skinny:

Apparently, as before, I have a small break of the top of one of the lower bones of my left leg, the tibia. It's so small it barely shows on any images, but it's sure causing a world of hurt. It doesn't want to bear any weight and complains loudly if it must. It also just feels generally wobbly and unstable. Once again they have given me a knee stabilizer. I like this one, it's has buckles. And once again I'll be getting the home health version of PT.

They do sell insurance to pay your house off were something to happen to one of you. Wish I had it.

I don't know how to answer this. If you had two different sticks and broke them, would you say they were broken in the same way? This is the opposite leg than the one that had a little break last year, so I don't know if it broke in the same way. I feel like the bones of my lower legs are weak and maybe crumbly? And the bigger, stronger bones of my thighs maybe crush or chip them a little bit, somehow. But I don't really know because I can't see the images and they tell me the damage is so small it's almost impossible to see clearly. But even though it's small, the pain is fairly crippling.

The house is paid for, has been for decades. That's not an issue.

Yeah, Brave. It's pretty new yet but we like the security and so far it seems to be pretty good.

Took Pi to the vet today. She was limping pretty bad today and the general consensus was that she has outgrown her splint so in we went with her. Yep. They took it off and took another xray. Sure enough her ankle is healing great and the breaks are forming callus so they sent her home without the splint and said to keep on keeping her quiet....when I got done laughing they handed me two new prescriptions for her including a muscle relaxer and more trazadone to keep her a bit more sedate. She goes back in 2 weeks but when we got her home and put her down on the ground she had just a hint of a limp but bless her heart she set and washed her foot and leg for about a half an hour. I don' think she could stand her own dirty self any longer.

Mare !! Its been a few years. Hows life been treating you? There's a few old timers still here but also a nice bunch of newbies too!

You aren't kidding about some new faces - am reading back trying to get to know everybody. Sad to see some of the old crew no longer here. I also popped over to the "in memoriam" thread and saw a couple of names there that surprised and saddened me.....
Life is, well, life - can't complain too much, and when I start down that path I remind myself how blessed we really are, but it's been a rough few years most recently. A bright spot is we have a grandbaby now -- can you believe that? Katy and her husband moved out here to close to us a couple of years after we left Indiana. Their little girl just turned two in October. Meemaw life is pretty awesome. Jake is just a few weeks away from his 25th birthday --- darn kids making me old left and right

I enjoyed my TOC program. This is just the qualifier for the actual TOC which will be in March. It's amazing to watch these people cook, but it doesn't do me any good, I don't actually learn anything useful. When am I going to cook with squid ink and red grouper?

I hear this - my hubby actually watches the food shows in this household and, unfortunately, comes away feeling all inspired....he doesn't cook a lick, so I end up going down rabbit holes finding and trying new foods to satisfy his brainstorms

True - good ol' country vets are fewer and farther between by the day. I am so thankful that I grew up with them as our local vets and was able to learn so much from them...and having a daughter who was on track for a veterinary career pre-brain injury (in college) so she has a lot of knowledge and background, between the two of us we are able to address a lot of things.....

I have a great granddaughter on the way.
Granddaughter was started around 6:00.

Howdy all, I have been on this thing for a few hrs. looking for free legal help. There was a place in Madison that offered this but I cant find it. I have gave up. Also looking for the place that delivers meals here. Instead of getting up and finding the paper work which I think is on the table I wasted another hr. or so looking here when I don't even remember the name of the CO..

By deliver meals are you meaning meals on wheels or one of the home delivered meal programs offered through some insurances now? I remember MOW was odd in Jefferson County (you do fall on the Jefferson county side, right?) - it didn't come out of of Madison as one would have expected - I can dig around and see if I can come up with any info
