It wasn't the best choice for me but it was for my son. He is thriving here. He's out of resource classes in school, pulled almost straight A's in regular 4th grade. Teachers here are wonderful with him. They will send him to a 5th grade class when ever DS starts getting fidgety. The teacher said he does that as he knows DS already knows what he's trying to teach other students and son is getting bored. So teacher sends him to the 5th grade class as he knows it will keep him focused on learning. DS has only had 1 problem day here, that was due to not taking his meds, where in NV he was sent to 3 different schools in 1 year as they were triggering his outbursts or explosive disorder. I couldn't get it through their heads.

DS will have same teacher next year as he's going to 5th grade teaching next year.

I knew a child with ODD Im sure they all differ but boy was he a handful.

I'm just dreading the whole family being here again this weekend. I want to hibernate. But I will survive. I always do.
And here I was bumming because I will be watching the basketball final by my lonesome. Feel better about it now.

Hubs gets back Tues.

Quote: Why not any help? DD seems to like the idea, but she should still be responsible for clothes and drs and teacher meetings. It's not like you would be adopting him officially, he'd still have 2 parents out there who should be part of his life. And food shouldn't be a problem. I have been known to grumble about taxes, but never for food stamps. It's not even stamps any more, it's like a credit card. Pretty much anyone can qualify. Why suffer? Use the benefit that's offered. You will get through the month a lot easier.

I'm just thinking how much you could impact this child's life for the good. It's a huge thing to take on, though. Especially when you are not well. Maybe think of now as a trail period. See how it goes. In the end, he may be helping you as much as you help him.

Quote: Maybe thinking of Danna?

Wishing, that is the same way mine is . slightly itchy but big red and swollen.  But where the bite is makes me wonder where it went next. dead I hope. LOL

My grandfather always had us slice a piece of potato and tape it over the bite, it pulls the poison out from bite. Leave it on for 24 hrs. It really helps. Sounds stupid but its one of the old wives remedies.

Parenting, especially good parenting comes with lots of sacrifices... But in the end it's always about family.

Sounds like you've got him in a great situation. Good job mom. I'm still reeling from the thought of having twins at 49???
