Hey roost did anybody tell you that when you purchase already laying birds they probably won't lay again for a few weeks. They have to get adjusted to their new environment. Hope that helps

Sometimes with a new bird they will lay the day you get her or the next day because the egg was already in the works, but usually after that it could be a couple weeks before she lays again.

how much winter do you get ? totally up to you.  she shouldnt stay with the others when she sits because they will keep adding eggs and mess the hatch up.

our winter isn't that bad most of the time. It's considered real cold if we dip into the teens.
