Its hers ! She has some great tips and pics.

Fertility is down in the brown eggs, I guess because the roos are overbreeding the EE hens and not mounting anyone else. I know for sure that one australorp will fight them off. :gig

I have the small pen... Do you think separating out the roos for a few weeks will help? Maybe they'll lose their place in the flock and be a little gentler when they go back?

they will start fighting each other worse .

Morning! Camping, couldn't hurt to separate the roosters. You could also do conjugal visit pens with one rooster and a couple of hens to have a better chance they are covered. But the EEs deserve a break!

Quote: Missed you this weekend! Just last night I was telling my hubs about "pants," so I was pretty excited to see it again this morning!

The roos aren't fighting, they're just overbreeding the hens. I would put the roos in a pen together, out of sight of the flock.

Or I could move the HRIR roo and his three hens, but I think the pen is a little too small for all of them. Of course I could block the holes under the fence and try them in the back yard by themselves...
