Howdy everyone! Finally caught up.

Granny, I've used hay & straw a little bit, and didn't have trouble with them eating it. I did have trouble with it getting compacted and sort of turning into hard packed poo-straw-concrete. Next time I would keep them scratching and turning it by throwing in scratch for them to find.

It's early days on the contest. I haven't even voted yet.

Did you know red's real name is Billy? He will always be our little red, won't he?

Sorry about your washer, Newfie. I remember having to drive into town with mom when ours bit the dust. Also, we didn't have a dryer, so during the winter, we'd take in loads of wet clothes to use the dryers. I remember sitting in the warm steamy room reading all the jokes out of the Reader's Digest.


Good luck with the plumbing, Mare. Nothing paralyzes a household more than not having water.

Well I have a twenty year old son. She has a 10 year old boy and a girl 13. I consider them mine though. Unfortunately their dad don't see them but maybe once a year. Yeah he's one of those fathers of the year. That's ok though. His lose is my gain. He's missing out on some great years. He'll realize it one day when it's to late.

Awes you just became one of my heroes!!!! I had three kids... Married for a long time. Dude left and my now current hubby has been dad for over eight years!!!! The teems call him Devin, the other calls him dad. Then we had a fourth child when I was 31. Never will do that again. The sperm donor took off when the youngest was three never to return and Devin likes it like that.
