I want a fancy breed that I can sell hatching eggs for $15-20 a dozen, like with the sussex. This is just for my hobby breed, not the same as the camp flock or the layers.


I'm always up for advise.

I really loved my SFH's and they are still fairly rare. They layed well and were nice mannered. And come in all kinds of colors!!!

I looked at them, I promise! I just don't really love them. I think they look too much like the sussex... And it don't know anyone breeding them. I don't totally love barring either, which turns me off the neider/biele/legbars. I like the isbars, but don't like that they're small and flighty. I prefer a big heavy bird.

I think I'm between svart honas, blue langshans, and lav orps.

Although it would be smart to get legbars because they're good sellers, but I think the market might be flooding.

morning all, Up too early .. Collards have a bit of a stronger taste but very good . I prefer mixed mustard and turnip. and collards are not good til they get frosted on once IMO Im sure you could grow them Twist. And now I wish I had me a big mess of greens. Turnip root and all..
 It is 11 degrees out this am . brrr...  Its supposed to be high 50s in a couple days. Tom has been up since 11 pm to "make sure" GS caught the bus.  hahaa

Yesterday's coop progress! They were waiting on DH to bring the lumber, else I think the whole thing would be framed. So they cleared some land instead.

Y'all have gotten me into wanting to raise some rare chickens to sell. I just don't know how the market would be around here.
