above the tail looks like she maybe is a favorite of the rooster. Damage being done by nails. That's if you have a roo, otherwise I would say you have another hen or hens picking her when they are on the roost. What level protein is your chicken feed? In the winter months when its cold, the birds need additional protein to maintain their body temp, make feathers & lay eggs. If their feed isn't matching their protein needs they will start cannibalizing one another. If that happens & blood is drawn they will all become vultures & go after the bleeding victim. Injurying her more or even killing her. Then they will proceed to eat her. I know gross, but I've seen it in my own flock![]()
Feed is 18 percent and they get boss and meal worms when I give scraps. Might be from the roo... Just looks different than the austrolorps that have a small bare spot on back.
