Would like to ask all of you a favor tonight. My future SIL has surgery in the morning. He needs to have a couple of his Parathyroid glands removed because of tumors. These are located on the backside of his thyroid gland. Its very sad, his doctor knew about this condition since he was 18, but because he didn't have health insurance he was never informed how bad it was to not treat it. This condition has been robbing all of his bones

How did they find them....
One night at the dinner table when I commented to my daughter about her needing to get her thyroid level checked & Andy piped up that ya his was really high. I ask him how he knew that, he said a doctor told him years ago (he was 18) that his thyroid was severely overactive. I looked at him & said Andy do you know how serious that is. I said you either have thyroid cancer or graves disease & that it isn't anything to fool around with. Could understand why he was so exhausted & hurting all the time. Mind you he's 30 now, doctor knew when he was 18. Couple days later he was feeling so horrible that he headed to his doctor. Once there, the doctor realized something was going on & called for an ambulance. They put him in ICU because of something with his heart & started running a bunch of test. The blood work they ran came back with a blood calcium level 500X's the normal level. With MRI imaging they found the tumors on 2 of his parathyroid glands.

Bless your soul, you saved his life. That is soooo scary....

Its criminal is what it is, because he wasn't insured his doctor never pressed him to get medical attention for it.

My incubator is sitting at a comfortable 108 degrees... at least its stable now... yeash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep I know.... I need a better bator.... I am drooling over those quail eggs though. I think I need to cut into the bator and see what I can do. At the very least, I found a spot that doesn't change temperatures frequently.
