Been battling that stupid plantar fasciitis for years, so thought this was more of the same, but it hurts differently. The heel and up and around the instep, on both sides of the heel. Pain comes and goes while I'm off it. If I step down hard (jump or try to run) there is a very sharp pain. All this started after my sis and I starting walking together. With that and one time I jumped across the creek, I think I gave myself a stress fracture. I was in Costco, and stood up on the back of the cart to try to see something up high. When I jumped back down (only about 12 inches) there was a severe sharp pain. That was the first time. Rest, ice, and ibuprofen are what the doc would prescribe, so I'm going to try that first, and see if it helps. That and try to drop some weight. I think that's causing most of my problems.

does it hurt worse when you first start walking on it and the longer your up walking the better it gets?
