what did Papa mean by feeling for feet or something ?

I'm not sure, but I would imagine the feet come first. So they may be turned up towards the end of the belly towards the delivery spot.

Even I have ac in the cold and rainy northwest... Of course we only stick it in the window for a couple months each year.
