I've done sand, hay, and pine shavings. I think they're all good.
Ok what do you use to cut down on smell

I've read lots of articles about sexing a chick by the tail feathering. If I ever hatch again I'm gonna make my predictions and see how that goes.

I can sex mine at 1 week by their tails. Littlle square stick up tail=male. Longer curved down tail=female. Can tell most of them at hatch.

I use hay, pea hulls, corn shucks in my coops.

camping do you happen to have a chick from the decease  maybe  you can convince DD  on her daughter so she can still "have a piece"  of her favorite

We have a daughter that we're not keeping. I know a guy with another daughter, and he's got them with an orpington roo. He's coming next month for birds, so I thought about asking him to bring me a few eggs.

We finally told her. She didn't ask to see the body or have a funeral. I told her she could pick any pullet to keep now. I also mentioned maybe letting her pick out something of her own. She didn't really jump at either.

She has, however, asked for a pony and a pig.
