Graphic!! Care for chicken after bad Raccoon attack

Molasses is one of the ingredients in nutri-drench. Do you still think there is benefit to adding more molasses?

Yes- especially in a recently injured bird that has the potential to go into shock. That is my opinion and personal practice on my own chickens. Just like anything else- folks are free to decide what fits their situation best - all we can do is share our experiences and "what I would do if" to help those facing a new emergency.

There's been more than one instance where the addition of molasses on top of the poultridrench (always the first thing administered) brought a chicken back from the brink when poultridrench alone didn't quite do it. Ideally there's lots of water involved too!

I had to work all day today and was not able to get poultridrench or locate antibiotics. I don't know where I am going to get those. We don't have any, none of my friends seem to have any spare laying around either. She drank a lot last night but tonight she is laying all the way down on my lap and doesn't seem great. I am letting her sleep for now. Maybe she needs to rest.
