coyotes in my book and was disturbed

a hawk we had get our chickens a while back sliced off the head and ate the whole belly to bones...like yours did

Definitely hawk. Coyote would take it away and owls usually only eat the heads and necks.

Defintally hawk, they normally spread so many feathers like that and leave the body.

My friend just texted me this. He asked me to post the picture. I told him you guys needed more info and he said:

Yes that one and one other were eaten at the base of a tree in their yard. The others were taken elsewhere and consumed during the day. Doesn’t seem to be bird pecking on the remains. Starting to think it’s a badger or raccoon maybe; something that can climb. It’s crafty whatever it is... can’t find it’s tracks; I’ve left snap traps, snare traps and cameras... no luck yet.
