GRAPHIC PICS of my day learning to caponize

Here is how I fasten them. Used two bumjee cords hooked to chairs. You can move the chair to adjust the stretching force. I have caponized 10 chickens this way, proven to work.

Your picture answered a couple questions I have been having. You secured both legs with one cord, but I can not tell - did you only secure the top wing with the other, or both.

I don't have an patio furniture - dogs have successfully claimed that territory. That said I have some large cutting boards, a work mate, and more than a few small C-clamps. Pretty sure I can get something to work. I was planning on using cords and weights - water bottles, easily adjustable. Your bungee method is probably still simpler.

On advantage to the work mate - If my wife is not looking, I can sneak it inside and work in the AC. Suspect sure we are breaking 100 in the afternoons already

Also look on page 109 for Poco's updated procedure. Lots of pictures. She only ties the right leg, and tucks up the left leg like the chinese do.

Great set up.  Thanks for the pictures.    Do you tie up both legs?

Thank you, yes I tied both legs, and both wings.

I tied both legs. Any table and objects that you can hook bungee cords will do, you get the idea from my pic and you may fit into your situations. I don't like to use weight because it is hard to adjust, especially when you are operating on different size/age chickens.

We started tying both legs together, and that is the "American" way all the old instructions from "American" sources indicate that. The Chinese only restrain the top leg and have the bottom leg drawn up under the chicken (the natural position it will take) it seems to displace the internal organ in an way the makes the teste more clearly visible. Either way will work, just what ever a person is more comfortable with.

My preferred way is restraining the top leg.

Boy or Girl? I thought it is a roo however I couldn't locate his teste. I have done more than 10 birds now I should be able to find testes if they are there?
What you guys thinking?

That stance and comb look male, but those thin dainty legs say girl.
