GRAPHIC PICS of my day learning to caponize

Yes. If you have a group in MO interested, I can come to you. Send me a PM and we can talk about this more.
I was thinking about this....while I'm not near as experienced as Poco, I want to help. I don't think I can be of much help with the teaching aspect but Coral-if you need someone to go along as Kid Watcher and Helper I'm more than willing. That way if others have kids there I can keep the whole group entertained so you all can concentrate on learning. I've got 3 adult kids so I have plenty of experience :-D

I'm the only one that I know of and that's not saying much, I'm not very social. I only have one 17 year old left out of 8 children, so I don't think I need a babysitter. LOL I did advertise on facebook (Chicken Swap of Missouri- Buy/Sell/Trade) for anyone who does caponizing and no one responded. I think that if I can learn and get some practice, I might be able to do it for people who want to keep their roosters as pets.

Or show them how to do it and get better meat.

You are most welcome to come along if there is a need for a clinic in MO. If we have another clinic here, I'd really love it if you could come help. You sell yourself short: I have confidence in your abilities and know that you will be teaching others in the near future.

As my children can attest to, I have very little patience for teaching. LOL Even with adults, I mean, I don't snap at them, I just get frustrated when they think they should be able to do what I am doing in a few short days that took me years to learn. I'm not saying I wouldn't try but I don't have high hopes for me. LOL

Ksane - Your boys are all finished and ready for their trip home. Looking forward to seeing you this evening.

5 X Ameraucanas = All Done!

3 X Salmon Faverolles = All Done!

Robin - Two of your three boys are finished. Your bantam d'Uccle roo has man parts the size of golf balls, and they are not under his rib cage, they are back behind his thighs. I need to keep him until his initial incision heals so that I can work the muscle tissue back away from his hips. The incision needs to be back much farther than usual.

The bantam buff cochin is an excellent patient. He scolded me non-stop, but he didn't struggle.

Your silkie roo is a full capon too. HIs parts were enormous! I had to put a dish towel over his head so that he would calm down. He hyperventilated and got really wobbly when I restrained him. He is eating and drinking normally now. Scroll fast if you don't want to see him on the surgery table. I'm posting the photo for learning purposes. It is possible to remove a testicle that is larger than the incision. One just has to be patient and move slowly.

@Poco Pollo Thank you ever so much for doing my precious boys. When I win the lottery you get 1/2 :-D Let's just hope I win more than $10.00.
I'm indebted to you.
Sounds like Robin's boys didn't want to give up their manly parts lol @artsyrobin , you're going to love that little Bantam Cochin. I'd have loved to have him also. If you decide you may let him go please get ahold of me 1st.
Excellent job, Coral!!! I know how time consuming it was to do a dozen birds alone in one day. I'm so sorry to be desperate enough to ask you to do mine when I technically know how to. Those boys are so special and I'd have never caponized again if I'd have killed one of them. I'll be practicing on birds I haven't raised myself from here on out. I can only hope to be as good as you at it one day. I think your biggest asset is patience, and that's what I lack.

Thank you so much! Maybe someday i will get up the nerve to learn, and why doesn't the D'ucce surprise me, he has a serious attitude!
