GRAPHIC PICS of my day learning to caponize

I was going to order Monday, but I think I'll order Sunday instead. Monday is going to be hectic, and I want to be sure I'm communicating well when I need to be detail oriented. I'll send PMs to let you know what the first payment will be. Estimated shipping is from two weeks to six weeks. Most of this depends on the China Post. First payment is for product only. Second payment is for shipping and commission: TBD at the point that products are boxed and shipped to the US. I'll use the cheapest (and safest) USPS method to get the tools to you once they get here.

I'm going to order a vintage set for myself to see how the rib dilator differs from the newest models.

Kass - If you can write down any tips or tricks that you've learned, and I do the same, we can help those getting the new tool sets. I had a breakthrough using the wire tool last week. I'm still trying to figure out how to "say" what I did so that others can understand me. I think we need photos. Pictures explain what words can't touch.

I have four, all about a week apart, that broodies have been raising. I couldn't tell if they were boys until this weekend. I can come to you. You made the drive the last time : ) Let me know what day works best for you. I can go to church Saturday night if you want to meet on a Sunday.

Good luck with the younger ones. The four week old ones that I caponized are doing well and growing. They are 14-15 weeks old, and so far there only appears to be one slip.

I have grown out 5 pullets that are 14-15 weeks(same hatch), so I am give poulardizing another go in the next week or so, and concentrating on locating the oviduct so I can remove part of it instead of the ovary to stop any further sexual development. I'll let you know how it goes.

HaplessRummer, MagicChicken, Maggiesdad, and Qajaqkelley - I sent you PMs regarding the October 6th Capon Tools order

I'll let you know shipping costs as soon as the items are boxed and mailed.

I have a question. After caponizing do the males have any male traits? Like keeping the girls in line & together.

The only male trait I see is the feathers, they grow the pretty male feathers, but no they are more like a laid back hen in temperament, at least all mine have been.

Same here Kassaundra. My guys have 2-3 tail feathers, and more often than not, they to not stand erect like a roosters. As far as disposition, mine are quieter and more docile than my hens. Many have combs that look like a young pullet. If they do get a little larger comb, they are very pale, and they have virtually no wattles. I have 12 housed together in one area and 18 in another, and I am amazed with their disposition. I can see why some of them will raise chicks.
