She's one of my newest Pullets...

Edited to add--she was in my quarantine coop (I just bought her & two others on Sunday). All three were previously housed together. It's an 8 x 12 or so area (no run). So the other chickens did this. Orloffs seem to have issues with scalping other birds. Last month or so I had a GLC pullet I put in with my other Orloffs and they scalped her bad...now these Orloffs (totally different birds, different lines, different environment) do the same thing.

I got it all cleaned out, medicated and gave her some antibiotics...and she's resting in a crate in the house....

That is terrible....poor little thing!

Any ideas what done that to her? and was your other chickens okay?

I'm sure she will be your new little house chicken for awhile. She needs that extra TLC

Seems like she would need some kind of medication for pain but I'm still new chickens and learning.
Hope she recovers!

I had a rooster who cut one of my pullets on the back of the head and then the other pullets would not leave it alone. Everytime I would get it scabbed over and I would think she was going to be OK, they would open it back up again. I would keep her separated for a couple of weeks... but if I let them near her, they would open it back up. I finally gave her to a friend of mine who had more room.... and the next week the stupid rooster died. Anyhow - I would suspect the other chickens.

You'll need some antibiotics and neosporin. I bought baby socks and sort of bandaged mine too.

tripple anti biotic ointment for sure and some needle fishline???? That poor gal needs some stitches. I hope she gets better soon good luck! I had a little red polish and when his crest started coming in the other birds picked on his pin feathers as they came in and it ended up looking kinda like your girl but not quite as bad.

Other cihckens....yeah, she's in a dog crate in the livingroom. DH is NOT happy but I just spent $60 on this bird two days ago....

I do have aspirin but it's also a blood thinner so I don't want to give her any until the bleeding is under control.

There's really nothing to stitch. The skin is gone...what you're seeing is her SKULL.

There is a flap at the bottom of her neck but it's probably too old to stitch and/or it could create an abscess if I were to try to fix it...

Hopefully that's not the case with these guys...I'm not sure who did it--either the other young pullet or the young cockerel....I am going to probably wait until spring to reintroduce this one back into the flock and I'll be trimming some beaks for sure before I do...
