Gratitude thread

I am grateful that my DS is making wonderful improvements after his accident and his injuries.

I'm grateful that God is above me, He hears my prayers, and that by His grace I am saved.

I'm grateful to have a loving DH who tolerates and even encourages my chicken fancy.

I am grateful for my job, my home, the food on my table and much much more!

Things I am grateful for:

My dh. Hands down the best man I have ever known.

The friends I have made, both on BYC and in the "real" world.

My job. Much as I dislike getting up at the butt crack of dawn...

My house. It's pretty.

Today I'm thankful that I had an extra pair of shoes in my office b/c the pair I was wearing gave me terrible blisters.

I'm also awfully glad it's Friday.

I wrote this note on Facebook the other day... thought it was kind of appropriate!

I feel so blessed. I have a wonderful husband and we're mostly settled into our new home. I have the greatest family anyone could ever ask for and I have some amazing friends that I am so glad to have in my life. Our dogs are doing well here and I'm SO glad to have them for company, especially now since Mike is now on midnight shift at work. We have finally met some of our neighbors and so far, they have all been nice. Our chickens will soon have a hoop coop so I can move them around the pasture field (free fertilizer for the pasture... yay!). I have a bunch of chicken eggs, 6 duck eggs, and 6 guinea eggs in the incubator (thanks to my cousin,Mandi, for letting me borrow it the incubator and to Miss_Jayne for providing some of the eggs that are in it!) and in 3 weeks I will hopefully have baby chicks and in 4 weeks I'll have baby ducks and guineas! We're hoping to start getting a fence built around our pasture so we can soon have our cows down here with us. We're also really hoping to get the pig house moved down here and a little fence up so we can get some pigs again! Oh and we have a new addition to the family - a little goat named Ned. He's cute and is fun to have around so far (thanks again, Mandi!). He's doing some brush clearing for us and saving us some hard work! He sure eats a LOT for such a little guy! We have our garden plowed up, so it just needs rototilled or disked and we can start planting! Our Magnolia trees are just starting to bloom, daffodils are blooming everywhere in the yard, and the grass is starting to grow (I know, grass growth for most people just means you have to mow the yard... but to me grass growth is food for the cows)! Spring is just such a happy time full of beauty and new life!

I'm grateful to a dear friend who gave me my first pair of chickens as a gift when I was very low (having a nervous breakdown, actually) after having two serious eye operations & ending up thinking I was likely to loose the sight in my right eye. She saved my sanity because I wasn't allowed to do anything except sit around (and worry)!!!

I wasn't even keen on birds of any kind at the time but as it was a hot summer & I couldn't do anything else I set up a chair by their enclosure & just watched them day in & day out -- for months. This was the beginning of my

I'm thankfull that after 6 months of me and hubby being unemplyed that we saved enough money to last us through the rough times . I'm thankfull that the lawyer we got finally got us a deal on hubbys surgery vs work comp , and that the lawyer is going after a second claim to re-embures us for time off of work . I'm thankfull that this year I have time off to get wood in for next winter instead of being out of town . I'm thankfull that now I can re-fence our 36 acres to let the horses out this spring ( not really...stupid elk tore all of the fence down and now we have to do repair work.....but at least I have 2 weeks till hubby gets his arm broken....at least I'll have 1 person for help !) I'm thankfull for my mother , sister , and my neice . They always cheer me up when I'm feeling down !
