I even had to show dh. We used to have a Blue Great Dane , He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Great Danes are the gentle giants.

I have two Danes and have never had a problem with them bothering the chickens and turkeys.

I-Eat-Chickens-Yum, I bought both of mine from reputable breeders who show and health test and paid $1200 for a mantle merle and $1500 for my fawn.

She looks like my old Great Dane Freya! When she was old, I got a puppy and she became a surrogate mother to the new addition to the family, always so gentle and patient with her.

If dogs can be described as "broody," I think Great Danes have earned that honor. They are protective and motherly (at least the females that I have known)

great danes and boxs are my favorite dogs! i am volenteering at the animal shelter and there is a great dane mom with puppies! she is a black and whight great dane with an even greater personality! i wish i could take her home, but mom says no.
