Yes she is a dear, I love spending time in the kitchen with these wonderful ladies. what a wealth of knowledge there.

She is very sweet. But her family still must have been fairly well off during the depression to have lemons. Lemons were a luxury. Vinegar pie came out of the depression era because people couldn't afford the lemons for lemon pie and used vinegar. Doesn't sound too appetizing, but it's actually a good pie!
