This is what we are using except ours is coated with a black finish. We have it connected to a rain barrel behind their house but can hook it straight up to a hose if we need to.

I wish I didn't need to. In the winter maybe I won't but our summers are 100-115 degrees and even at dark there is a lot of residual heat and my poor Pekins especially pant like mad even if it's 90 outside after sunset. Even at 9pm it is quite warm here. I read that in warm temps like that I would need to keep water in their coop. Am I mistaken? Will they be ok for 12 hours without food or water in hot temps like this overnight?

I wouldn't leave them that long in the heat without water.
