I hope this passes and many more states follow. Like others I have nothing wrong with immigrants just the ILLEGAL Immigrants that make me mad. But I do not know how hard it is to get a vista and a pass port then go to customs.

It passed and was signed yesterday by gov. Bentley. I'm sure it will end up in court, the civil groups where already squealing on the news last night.

I have to wonder, if the child is here legally but the parents are, should the child be punished and sent back too for a crime their parents committed?

I know two people who's parents were at one point illegal. one of the people i know went on to serve in the military and become a productive citizen.

What about children who were here illegally, and were raised here only to learn later they are illegal and sent back to a country they know little or nothing about?

That term I hear used is called "anchor baby" yes the child is hear legally and the child is an american citizen but the parents aren't so when they go back child goes back. But the child is still a citizen, so if they have family child can come back over and stay with family. I have seen talk about passing a bill about parents having to be legal for child to be legal.

E.G. Wife and I cross border illegally, wife gives birth 4 hours in to the country that child is now a citizen, but if the talk of a bill ever gets more than talk they would say sorry," child is not citizen cause you guys are not legal".

ETA: About last sentence in quote, I personally do not have an answer for that, but if I was in that place I would blame my parents and then threaten to run away and somehow get back into the US.

Some days I say kick them all out other days when I see sad movies about families crossing illegally cause they have no money and can't pay for visa and want better for their family so they all go to strawberry fields and pick for weeks on end. I feel really bad for them. But I don't know how hard it is to get a visa in mexico. So it might be some ridiculous amount.

If you are here illegally you get deported, that's how it is and should be. If you are here legally and are trying to provide a better life for your family, then I admire and respect you. Illegal immigrants are taking jobs from American citizens, that's the problem. If you are born in the U.S. and your parents are illegal you should not get citizenship. Kids getting a free education that citizens pay for is wrong. No exceptions for illegal immigrants, they may have good intentions, but they went about it the wrong way.

I say kick everyone out that's not of NATIVE American (read original inhabitants, Lakota, Annishinabe, Ho-din-oshone, etc. etc.)descent...(you'd see people of non lineage, linin' up claimin' NA hereitage, faster than they do when the pass out casino money...)

"If you are born in the U.S. and your parents are illegal you should not get citizenship." Ah...too bad...tsk tsk tsk...codified in the CONSTITUTION! Sucks to have that opinion...
