I have a special needs chicken that is blind from when my ex fed the dogs at the same time the chickens were out and one got bit. She's blind now.
Well, she just got attacked AGAIN by a pit that just move into my neighborhood. She was not in shock as long the first time as she has been this time. I feel horrible for her and its so hard to see her in such a bad spot. She totally depends on me to feed her and what not. I have been taking her out front when I'm doing yard work and we were both out me on one side of the driveway and she was digging in the dirt on the other side. Thats when this dog got her. I heard her screaming and ran to her, ran him off. I have nothing nice to say about that dog or it's owner. I hope it never comes on my driveway again.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Oh poor girl. :hugs Is there a puncture wound? Dogs mouths are pretty dirty, if there is a deep hole, she could get an infection. You might start her on antibiotics, Amoxicillin if you have any. You can also start a thread in our Emergency forum for more help.... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/

Best wishes with her!
I have been spraying the wounds. She is still in shock, not moving but not breathing so heavily now. Do you know how long shock usually lasts? giving her an Epsom salt bath now.
