Every since my girls got to be about 17 weeks I started going on a nightly egg hunt. My girls free range while we are home and I have been so worried that they would lay eggs somewhere besides the coop. I have a huge yard with fields on three sides and yes they will cross the fence where the cows are kept. So tonight I was making my rounds to all their favorite spots but nothing again. I went to the coop with the plan of giving them fresh water before bed and a quick check of the coop and SURPRISE right there in the nesting box was our first small egg. I gave all the girls a treat since I can not 100% say which one gave me my treat but if I had to take a guess I would say Thelma. My girls are not quite 21 weeks so I am thrilled.
