Had our NPIP inspection for the farm yesterday and passed...WOOT!

Ed, we DO have buckeye cross chicks. They're buckeye hens with an Ameraucana roo. Should be interesting to see how they turn out. As far as breeds, we raise Buff Orps, Lav. Orps, Salmon Faverolles, Russian Orloffs, Red Shouldered Yokohamas, Rose Comb Rhode Island Reds, Dominiques, Turkens, Black Breasted Red Bantams, Splash Cochin Bantams, Pekin Ducks, Muscovy Ducks, Blue Indian Runners, Black East Indies, Silky Ducks, Mallards, Guinea Fowl in Pearl and Lavender, and Homing Pigeons.

I'm sure I've forgotten something...but it comes with age.

Is it true that homers get resold alot?

I dunno. Mine were given to me by dear SirBird, and I haven't let them out. I just like watching them. I'll sit out there for hours sometimes, just watching those pigeons. They raised one baby, and I took out their nest box...I'll probably add one here in the next few days though, they're getting pretty friendly with each other in there.

ETA: Maybe I should get out of the bird business and start making candy...

I have 2 male pigeons, 2 girls met Mr. Hawk anyways they now sit in the chicken nest boxes courting the hens.

A neighbor has a pigeon hanging out at her house. It is not afraid of people but keeps just out of reach. It has two leg bands on. One is silver and the other is blue with a 45 on it. We know of noone around here that has pigeons but that is not to say we know what everone has. How can we find the owner?

Hey Em, congratulations on passing the test. Sounds like farm work has you running in circles, same here. Those buckeye candies look good, but I can't have any. Trying to get in shape, and not circular either. Maybe you should try selling candy as a side. Who knows where it could lead.
