I have a 1 year old mix breed hen who is very lethargic and weak. This morning I found her with her face and comb dark purple and when I pulled her out of the coop she had an explosion of green diarrhea. I quarantined her and am trying to get fluids into her. What could this be and what do I need to do?

Crop feels empty
She hasn’t laid in a week or more but our flock is molting and not laying much overall, so I hadn’t thought much of it.

She feels extremely thin. She has always been very skittish and feisty so she’s not one I routinely pick up, hence the reason I haven’t notice her weight loss.

No vent gleet, poop, diarrhea, etc on her backside.

I haven’t noticed any respiratory symptoms.

Purple in the face and comb usually indicates some sort of circulation issue - either internal or respiratory.

Does her breathing seem labored at all? Any swelling anywhere? When you checked, did you find any signs of parasites? Aside from being empty, does her crop feel like anything? (Gritty, mushy, etc?)
