i know this subject has come up before but i have never seen this in ten years of having chickens, i have what i thought was a brown leghorn, two white leghorns, 1 buff orpington, 2 americaunas, and 1 barred plymouth, the brown leghorn layed a green egg today and i know it came from her because she got out of the run and made a nest in a quiet shady place in our yard and i was going to put her back but when i went to get her she had already done her business and it was a green egg, so i know what the question will be she has yellow legs and no tuft or beard and white lobes she looks exactly like a brown leghorn i even compared her to brown leghorn pictures, no difference at all. has any one ever had this happen?
