Went to gather my eggs the other day and found a beautiful green egg in the collection. I immediately "google searched" it and found it to come from the Ameraucana hen, and when I looked at the picture of what the hen looks like it looked exactly like what I thought was our Rhode Island Red rooster! Boy was I wrong! Ole Red is producing fine green eggs along with the other hens brown ones. Very delicious! [IMG] I have so much to learn!

So, you have an identity thief in your flock? That's too funny!

Well your search told you a lie, you've got an Easter Egger, not an Ameraucana, but still - Congrats! Gotta love colorful eggs. [IMG] My only adult Easter Egger hen just gives me light brown eggs. . . So, I've been making my own EE's by crossing Araucanas with various brown egg layers. Hoping to have some green eggs next year. For now I'll settle with blue.
