oh nooooo ,way to late
That's what I figured. Honestly, I won't even order chicks so late again. My youngest ones will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Which is the time I usually start daily outside trips. But it's so chilly and windy that I just don't think it's a good idea until they're bigger.

I've got my spring chicks planned for April, and I don't think I will order beyond September in the future.

yea she was hiding in my husbands shed (which he said he looked in there but didnt turn on the light ) 😒 but she was trying to make a nest and go broody
Wow, glad you found her!
Broodies, grateful that none of my older girls have ever tried to go broody and hopefully none of my pullets will either. :fl

Lol I can't wait for my girls to start laying. I've got bit though. My oldest are 16 and 15 weeks this week.

Babies are great! I've got 14 little fluffy butt cochins in the brooder after the one I lost, and they are growing like crazy. They're actually 2 weeks olds today. And I might be crazy, but I already have some decent guesses as to who is male. The only 2 cochins I had before this group are both female, so I didn't have any comparisons for comb growth. But I sure do have some with what I consider big combs for 2 weeks old.

I obviously won't make any final decisions until more like 5 weeks, but I won't be surprised at all if my hunches turn out correct.
