It should be fine, once it's in the ground, it will freeze back but return from roots, or seedlings that volunteer. When we had the massive freeze in 2021, everything froze. Yup, the petunias were the first to recover that spring.im 8b
When ours start getting out of hand around the pond during growing season, we snap the stalks off at the base to thin them out. You can stick those stalks in the ground or a pot and they'll root most of the time.Yay! I bet it'll do great in your yard then.
