One of my friends buys me a small bag of green lentils about once a week, for my chickens. I soak them in water for a day, and feed them all at once to the chickens.

Are lentils okay for chickens?

Lentils do not need to be cooked. They can be fed right from the bag. Same with field peas that are found in many pigeon mixes.
That's good to know, I know beans needed cooking, I thought split peas and lentils were the same way.
