Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

I must say, I am enjoying not only learning about chickens on this site from everyone who has real life experience, by all the gardening tips and advice are great also. Both things are somewhat new to me since I have recently moved into the first home that I can actually call mine. Thank you everyone for all the education!

You're going to be and old pro before long Good luck

I broke down and got snail/slug control that is supposed to be OK for organic gardening. Those darn &%*$(# are eating absolutely everything. Seedlings get about 1" high then are eaten completely away. In addition to that I bought copper plumbing pieces to put at the base of my plants to keep them from getting even close to them and copper tape around the pots so they can't climb into the. The slugs are everywhere and I'm finding some that are so small, about the size of a lentil or maybe not even that big!!

On the bright side, my beets, eggplant, indian cukes and some herbshave sprouted. The stupid slugs ate my black radish seedlings and almost all the romanesco cauliflower, so Ill need to plant more.

I did try the beer and it worked, but....it's 'spensive and love Stela! I have a brewery that I will be getting run off from the beer they make.

I saw some last night that were as big asmy index finger...and I can palm a basektball!!!

I gardened so hard today that my thumb has a blister!

Getting a 4'X18' bed ready for asparagus and putting in a new row of strawberries this week.

I sure hope somebody can help me with some advice on hardening off tomatoes.

If it's hot they need shade for a week or so and plenty of water. while they establish roots.

You can also trim off all the side leave and plant tthem very deep so only the top four leaves show. Flood the roots before filling the hole and tamp down the diry firmly.
