Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

Rancher; Next year . I'll get some more lettuce in this week. I've always got some going . I just can't believe they striped the entire flower box full in one night.

Last year I asked if anyone on BYC was going to the fair but no one was. I usually go twice since I'm not far. For me it's the same thing year after year so I don't spend much. Mostly for food.

I havent been since 1985 when I left Ithaca. I always loved going. Maybe next year.
I still have no beans on the plant but it is now attached to the air conditioner vent and climbing all over it. It has these amazing deep purple flowers. Finally I'm getting waxed beans.

I'm glad I didn't yank my bedraggled pepper plants out! Since the last couple of rains they've exploded with peppers!

I'm glad you didn't either. Mine went absolutely crazy. I harvested 15# last week and will probably get another 15# before all said and done.Cukes are pretty much done and I harvested a beautiful bowl of wax beans the other day . I made bean salad with them.

Hope you've been having a nice summer since we haven't talked in a while. You too rancher.
The other site I'm on here in southern NY we have been going crazy over the jump in feed.
Be safe ,let's talk soon Carol

I haven't been on as much as I'd like. Work has been busy, kids are back in school (which means meetings, ball games etc.), since the rains I've had to mow our one acre again (which I actually missed) and I've started training my spring-hatch pigeons.
And managed to plant a fall garden for the first time! Well, just a few rows but things are looking good!
It's been a fantastic summer. While I'm glad for the relief of cooler temps I always hate to see summer fading.

It was a nice time at Tabs for the meet, btw.

Yanked red pepper plants and don't care. I doubt they had time to put out peppers. The sweet green banana types have given me a few peppers though. Now I hope the squash turn out okay. Glad for the rain though.

I did up some tomatoes, but could use some more. Lots of yellows but the reds are far behind.

Hope to go and pick apples this week to make sauce and jelly. Bad year here for Apples though. Some places are expensive.

Went to the NYS fair and will go again with my GD tomorrow. Weather should be nice and cool.

Have a spiedi and some Bakers Chicken for me Rancher. The weather should be great.
My sister and niece came for a visit yesterday and she left with tomatoes, 3 types of peppers,Cukes, an eggplant and a dozen eggs. She said it was better than the farmers market. She wants me to go upstate next year and show her husband how to put in a garden. All my 7 year old niece cared about was the blue eggs.
Enjoy the fair. Next year I'm coming up and we are going together.

Same. My bell pepper plants never once gave me a pepper this spring. Now they've exploded with.. NOT bell peppers. Dad-gummed mislabeled plants!
