Um, I eat it... It's the only green I can grow all winter without a cold frame (freezes solid, thaws, grows some more!) Very tasty "edible weed" and I'm sure the chickens will love it. It's like baby spinach leaves in texture but tastes more like lettuce.
It does not like heat, though, and will go to seed as soon as the first of the summer heat hits. This isn't really the right time of year to plant it unless you're up in MN...
ETA: I see Michigan. Yeah, throw it in the ground!
