Hi everyone, I just wanted to say "Heddo" and introduce myself.
We are in Southwest Washington, across the Columbia river from Portland, Oregon.
I'm working on drawings for our first coop, and we plan to acquire a flock of five laying hens early next Spring. We have been enjoying fresh eggs courtesy of our friends who own chickens, and they have finally convinced us that we need to take the plunge and raise our own flock. We live in the City limits, and are allowed a flock of five, which is reasonable and fits our needs very well.
I'm an enormous fan of the internet and I find sites like this one immensely useful, educational and entertaining. I am also like a Japanese tourist with my digital camera, and I look forward to sharing pics as we go and grow our flock.
