Hello everyone

I am a new chook owner. I only just got my first 6 chicks last weekend and unfortunately one has already passed. She was very lethargic and someone had notified me that she likely died from coccidiosis. So I went to get some amprolium solution to treat the rest of the flock. But now another one is very lethargic again and I'm scared she is going to end in the same fate. I took her out for a while and fed her some raw egg yolk but she did not proactively eat any. I was wondering if there is something else I can do? I don't want to lose another one :hit:hit:hit

I've attached some photos of my set up.

Edit: yes the water look murky. I think the chick just stepped in it. Literally made a fresh amprolium mix 2 minutes before taking the photo

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry for your loss. :hugs Coccidiosis kills fast, but once they start drinking the medicated water, in a few days they should all be on their way to healing. Good luck with your babies!

Welcome to BYC. You can also receive advice from BYC members living in Australia who may have gone through the same problem. Reach them thru "Australia, six states and one funny little island. I mention this because any medication here(USA) may be different in Australia.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! I've posted in the er section so hopefully I get some help. The little guy is now isolated himself away from the lamp and away from her sisters
Poor little guy. I hope he will be ok! Dip his beak in the water once an hour to keep the meds going. When they get too sick they don't want to drink.
