Hi I'm new, I'm here because I believe in advancing the welfare for both plants and animals. This community is a great resource to learn from, interact with, and create relationships with chicken owners like us! I want to provide insightful and accurate information regarding the responsibilities and improvements for the happiness of both chickens and their owners. My goal is to create funny, innovative & resourceful posts/responses for all to enjoy!

I'm the Director of Marketing at FarmerLED hoping to help out the 1# community of chicken enthusiast. Just to make things clear, I'm not here to promote my company or our products. I mention this because I want you to know that my expertise/knowledge from working in the industry, can help provide or solve solutions for all members of this wonderful community.

So my first question to you is: What's your favorite chicken breed and why?

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy that you've decided to join us:ya
As @ronott1 too difficult to pick one. I have a love hate relationship with all of mine on any given day, you can see what they are in the signature line. In addition to that we have Hollands as well.

Welcome!

(Strange, I could have sworn you'd been here before :idunno)

As for favorite breeds...for me it's more about the personality of each bird rather than a breed preference. But in general, the Speckled Sussex have been among my favorites.

Welcome!
My fave breeds include Silkie, d'Uccle, d'Anver, Serama, Cochin, Brahma, Ameraucana, Easter Egger, Olive Egger, Marans, Isbar, Orpington, Sussex, Brabanter, Pavlovskaja, Swedish Flower Hens, Faverolles, Ayam Cemani etc etc...................................
Lets just say I love all breeds!

I swear I saw someone with the screen name, or one close to it, as well.

As for a favorite, could you be more specific? Favorite as an egg layer? Favorite as a dual purpose or meat bird? Favorite as *because they're pretty* kind of thing?
