Greetings from Michigan

Hello! My name is Mike and my wife and I just moved into a trailer in southern Michigan that we have remodeled. We are beginning to homestead and we have yearly goals that we plan to accomplish. This year we have started out with Chickens and are planning a garden. We are proud parents to 7 Rhode Island Red chicks, 1 Black Sexlink chick, and 6 Barred rock chicks. All of them are about 3 weeks old now and are getting big. As we both have never had any experience with chickens before this has been a great resource for us regarding information and ideas for coops. I started building our coop earlier this week and I have already got all the framing done so hopefully I'll have the entire thing completed next week. I ended up going with the Downeast Thunder Farm design but I have tweeked it to be 8x8 instead of 4x8 because I wanted to have the ability to expand our flock in the future if we wanted to. Excited to start raising chickens and excited to be part of this community!
