Hello everyone! My name is Lydia, and I’m so grateful to join this wonderful community.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I began raising chickens many years ago as a little girl with my family. Later, I taught my son to care for chickens and other small animals from the time he was very young. It has always been part of a God-led journey into ecological stewardship and hands-on care. Every chicken and small creature has been a blessing from the Lord.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently, I care for a small flock of laying hens that produce what we call “Rainbow Eggs”—each hen has her own personality and rhythm.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I raise a mix of heritage breeds and hardy layers, chosen for their gentle temperament and suitability to our climate.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the quiet joy of gathering eggs, observing their behavior, and designing safe, beautiful housing that reflects care and purpose. It’s a way to serve both creation and community.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy baking with my son, crafting handmade poultry products, and sharing traditional foods and stories. I've been a professional nutritionist for many years, and I personally prepare all-natural, complete feeds for our chickens and other small animals. Their vibrant feathers and strong health are a testimony to God’s provision and good nutrition. I also run a bilingual website that blends God’s love, science, and practical design.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you’d like to share.
Our home in Renton, WA is a sanctuary for hospitality, animal care, and creative stewardship. It is also home to Lydia Enoch Academy and Lydia Enoch University, where we integrate faith, science, and hands-on learning.

We raise rainbow eggs, duck eggs, chicks, and little Campbell ducks. I design and build multifunctional poultry cages and prepare all-natural, complete nutrition feeds—each one part of the scientific experiments we’ve designed and practiced.

We raise quail not only for their gentle nature and nourishing eggs, but also as a quiet reminder of God's provision in the wilderness—just as He fed His people with quail and manna, He continues to sustain us in every season.

These resources are suitable for students, homeschool families, schools, home breeders, and anyone interested in raising chickens with care and purpose. Every item is handmade with prayer and precision, and I’m preparing to offer them for local pickup.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve known about BYC for a while. I joined now because I’m ready to share, connect, and offer my handmade poultry treasures to those who need them.
