Thank you all for the welcomes! Learning a lot reading all these threads. I've just processed my first 3 drakes a friend gave me. Had some difficulty identifying if these drakes are okay to eat. I don't know what "normal" internal organs look like. Any ideas where to get information? If the organs are "ify" and the meat still looks okay, are they edible?

Can you give us a picture of the liver? Likely you're fine.

Unfortunately I’ve already tossed the offals before I thought of asking questions on this site. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d get many responses but this group is fantastic and really stepped in! I’ll be processing 3 more in about 2 weeks. If anything looks suspicious, I’ll take pictures and ask sooner than later. Thank you to all for sharing their knowledge and experience with me! God bless you all and I pray you all have great success keeping your poultry!

Did you take clear pictures of the stuff when butchering?
Unfortunately no- I hadn’t signed up on this group yet and had already disposed of the offals- it was trash day and I have been grossing out my family with hanging the ducks in the refrigerator “aging “ the meat hoping to make the dry plucking easier. They couldn’t wait for me to get them out
