Hi everyone, I found this website when I Googled "lethargic chickens." My husband and I are new to chickens. We have two Americana Roosters, Spot and Stripe. They are 3 weeks old and looking great. We just purchased six new chicks, breed unknown. My husband says they are mixed, he picked them up from the feed store. I am grateful for the advice, the lethargic chick already looks better thanks to the sugar water. I consider them part of the family and look forward to some fresh eggs down the road! I am amazed at how smart the roosters are, they allow me to hold them. I hope they are not mean when they grow up!

We own two geese and two ducks: Huey and Louie, and Daffy and Daisy. Two dogs: Shush Yaz and Brownie. Four cats: Patches, Xena, Punk Buddy, and Shadow Dude. Our home is in a beautiful rural area, located on the Navajo Nation, 40 miles west of Gallup, N.M. I am a freelance writer, and my husband is a driller.

I will be posting or looking for posts .... I have a lot of questions about my new family members.

from Maine! BYC is a great community - enjoy your chooks!
Word of warning: Unless the new chicks are all hens (and even if they are), Spot and Stripe will be fighting a LOT.

from your neighbors in California. We don't have a rooster (too close to neighbors) but enjoy our beautiful hens. The (Ameruacana) EE is one of the sweetest and most beautiful of all. I'd love to a picture of your Ameruacana roosters when they mature. I've never seen one.

Your hubbub is a driller? Oh, dear - lucky you!

Just kidding! I would love to move back out to the ASW, but Lori will have little of it.

Welcome.
