Greetings from Missouri! I'm Jess, more commonly known as Skittlz because of my random rainbow hair just because it's something fun. (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I'm trying my hand at raising chickens as an adult now that I have time to do so. As a child I grew up on a farm but left it at about 13 so its been a few years, 35 to be exact since I've had chickens. 2) How many chickens do you have right now? I now have 12, week old chicks. We know how chicken math works so Im sure that will multiply. (3) What breeds do you have? I now have a couple assorted Wyandottes, Cinnamon Queens, and Buff Orpingtons. (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I really missed the antics of free range chickens, the bonus of edible butt fruit is another reason. (5) What are some of your other hobbies? I have many hobbies depending on the time of year is what you will find me doing. I crochet, cook, bake, work on vehicles, I can build just about anything I need to. (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a husband of 25yrs, 3 grown children, 2 grandsons, 2 dogs, 12 chicks and am currently retired. (7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I'm actually part of a facebook backyard chicken group and found out there was an online forum. The forum is so much more organized and easy to weed through I couldnt pass up joining.
