just wondering for sure if its a trio 1 male 2 females

I have some experience with geese, but not a lot. I am pretty sure it is not possible to sex Toulouse on sight. I believe they need to be vent sexed. I have a Toulouse I thought was a male from the get-go. Imagine my surprise when he laid an egg and then promptly went broody.

Yes, but I think it takes a lot of experience to do so, they have professional sexers that are only right MOST of the time.

Until I got a pair of CORRECTLY sexed geese (the two I have now) I had no idea how to tell the difference in adult birds who aren't laying eggs. The gander has a bigger head and body, and a distinctly different voice. He has a screechy high pitched honk. The female has a basso profundo honk

. The gander has always been braver, friendlier and appears to be a lot smarter, while the female hung back shyly and didn't seek out as much attention from me. These are human imprinted geese too, so that makes some difference.

Watch for the braver, more alert and higher pitched honks for the males, and the more relunctant and shy, low pitched quacking for the females. Geese seem to be very stereotypical in their behavior.

I think that the gander is the one farthest to the right

in this picture (which I used to make my above assumption) the gander is the one that's right in front of that turkey. He appears to hold himself more like a gander and his head and neck appear larger and less refined then the other two.

Congratulations LOL, my Grayzie Girl Toulouse seems to be a heavier/meatier goose than my Embden girl, my American Buff girl and my two American Buff ganders. Grayzie's 10 years old though and the American Buffs are only two years old so we'll see... VERY Handsome guys there!!

We weren't absolutely sure about our pair until this spring when one made a nest and the other suddenly didn't like our son getting anywhere near their home.

Those Toulouse are tricky!

So i found someone that has 4 females and one male grey tolouse geese for 75 for all of them is it worth it? they are laying and are pure.
