The other day on Shark Tank I saw a restaurant owner peddling grilled cheese donuts, sounded alittle weird but thought I try it and I even added a variation using egg!
Ingredients: 1 glazed donut, 1-2 slices of cheese, 1 pay of butter, 1 drop of oil your choice, dash of salt
Preparation:Slice donut in half, lightly butter inside of donut ( sounds gross but it's needed or it will burn), sprinkle salt on glazed part of donut, place drop of oil in skillet, when heated place donuts buttered side down, when you hear it sizzling add slice of cheese on glazed side, when cheese bubbles place other glazed half on top flip twice until golden brown.
Variants: add fried egg or my favorite make the hole in one slice alittle bigger and fry an egg 'toad-in-the-hole' style, also a slice of Canadian bacon makes a nice touch.
Grilled cheese donuts are great with tomato soup!!!!!
